Like many youngsters in this world, I was very eager to own a bike. And was waiting for the time when would my dream come true. I was in Bangalore working for the company Software AG as Software Engineer. It was from the month of April 2011, I made myself abundantly clear about purchasing a bike as a birthday gift to myself. I did convey the same to my parents and as expected their reactions were worried because I had couple of accidents earlier. On top of that, they heard about Bangalore traffic which made their fears worse, which added to their worries. They suggested to take a car instead of bike but I was determined to own a bike, come what may. It took bit of time to convince them that I would ride safe and be careful. Then came the difficult decision of which bike to own. Seriously guys, it very difficult these days to decide which to buy. After a lot of thinking and suggestions, I short-listed my list with couple of names: Bajaj Avenger and Hero Karizma which fall in the same budget.
I took time for myself (for couple of days) to decide between the two. Finally, I decided to purchase BAJAJ AVENGER. In the process, I got to know from office that they provide vehicle loan without interest which added to my happiness. I decided to buy it on my birthday as my present to myself. But things didn’t go as planned and bike was purchased on June 1, 2011 with cousin brother and my friends (Praveen, Lokesh and Shrinivas). We did choose a fancy number (KA 41 V 8188) for the bike which costs around 2000 bucks more. Once the bike was delivered, we went directly from showroom to Basava Mantap for the pooja. The memories associated with the bike are imprinted in my life for many reasons, one being the first bike purchased by me with my own money and many other road trips on it.
