I have tried n no. of times to pronounce it at one go and after many many attempts, was able to get it right. For the readers sake, I have also shown how to pronounce the name in the last section of the blog. You guys can give it a try and check in which attempt you get it right πŸ˜€. Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch” is a Welsh village on the island of Anglesey, which is also the name of the county town is on. The city is known for having the longest place name in the United Kingdom and Europe. The city also has the third longest place name in the world.

Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch is the unofficial name for the city. Llanfairpwllgwyngyllis the official name of “only” twenty letters (17 in the Welsh alphabet where “ll” and “ch” are single letters). The city name is abbreviated “Llanfairpwll” of Welsh speakers and “Llanfair PG” of those who speak English. Locally called simply “Llanfair”. The importance of the city name is: “[St.] Mary’s church in the lowering of the white hazel near a strong vortex and [St.] Tysilios church near the red cave”.
